  1. Isn’t this the Atlas Prager Brewery on the NE corner of Archer and Throop streets? Immediately next door was the bewery’s parking lot, then a local tavern called Moffetts, that had great burgers.

  2. This is indeed the Ambrosia Brewing Co. at 37th and Halsted. Schaller’s Pump is in the foreground, to the right and slightly ahead of the bus/streetcar in this postcard.

    The old brewery at Archer and Throop was Prima and was also called Prima-Bismark. It closed in 1951.

  3. As a child walking to Nativity Of Our Lord School, I’d pass the brewery daily. In the brewing process of making the beer, the hops use to dance over the wall of the brewery, and we kids use to tilt our heads back and open our mouths, hoping to grab a taste of the hops as they sprayed the air.
